What can I expect at my first visit?

Once we have received the completed health history form,  medical release form and bone density scan (if necessary), it will be time to schedule an evaluation.

If your doctor has faxed the medical release form to us, we’ll give you a call to set up an appointment.  If your doctor has given it to you, give us a call and let us know.  We ask that you come in about a half hour prior to your evaluation so we can go over all the paperwork and make sure everything is in order.

Your evaluation will consist of taking vital statistics, weight, measurements, motor and sensory function.   Then we’ll take you through a series of activities to see what kind of strength, endurance, coordination, and movement you are currently able to do.  We’ll talk about activities of daily living, things you can and cannot do at the moment, and set up a set of realistic goals that we can all work towards during your first 12 weeks.

Your evaluation will take one hour.
